Exam and Preparation for CEREC

Your visit begins with a thorough exam to determine the right treatment—whether it’s a filling or a full crown. This depends on the condition of your tooth and how much healthy structure remains.

Next, the area is numbed for comfort, and any decay or weakened tooth structure is carefully removed. The tooth is then prepared for the CEREC restoration, similar to other standard dental procedures.

Optical Impression

Next, a digital impression of your tooth is taken using advanced scanning technology. Instead of messy trays, a small camera captures detailed images of your tooth in just a minute or two.
This quick, comfortable process creates an accurate 3D model, ensuring your CEREC restoration fits perfectly.

CEREC Milling Unit

A ceramic block is selected to match your natural tooth shade and placed into the CEREC milling unit. Using digital data from your scan, the machine precisely shapes the restoration to fit your tooth.

This process typically takes about 8–18 minutes. Once complete, the restoration is polished and securely bonded in place—giving you a strong, natural-looking result in a single visit.
