CEREC

The CEREC Procedure

Many teeth have fillings or damage over time. CEREC is a modern solution that replaces old fillings and restores damaged teeth using strong, tooth-colored ceramic.
With advanced technology, your restoration is designed, created, and placed in a single visit—giving you a natural look, improved strength, and long-lasting results without multiple appointments.

Exam and Preparation for CEREC

Your visit begins with a thorough exam to determine the right treatment—whether it’s a filling or a full crown. This depends on the condition of your tooth and how much healthy structure remains.
Next, the area is numbed for comfort, and any decay or weakened tooth structure is carefully removed. The tooth is then prepared for the CEREC restoration, similar to other standard dental procedures.

Optical Impression

Next, a digital impression of your tooth is taken using advanced scanning technology. Instead of messy trays, a small camera captures detailed images of your tooth in just a minute or two.
This quick, comfortable process creates an accurate 3D model, ensuring your CEREC restoration fits perfectly.

What is CEREC?

CEREC is an advanced dental technology that allows restorations to be designed and completed in a single visit.

  • Chairside: Treatment is done right in the dental chair
  • Economical: Efficient for both time and cost
  • Restorations: Restores strength, function, and appearance
  • Esthetic: Tooth-colored, metal-free results
  • Ceramic: Made from strong, natural-looking materials

CEREC makes it possible to repair or restore teeth quickly with high-quality, natural results—all in just one appointment.

CEREC Milling Unit

A ceramic block is selected to match your natural tooth shade and placed into the CEREC milling unit. Using digital data from your scan, the machine precisely shapes the restoration to fit your tooth.
This process typically takes about 8–18 minutes. Once complete, the restoration is polished and securely bonded in place—giving you a strong, natural-looking result in a single visit.

What is CEREC Used For?

CEREC Inlay Restoration

CEREC is commonly used to repair teeth damaged by decay or old fillings. Inlay restorations help strengthen the tooth and restore its natural look and function.
Using advanced CAD/CAM technology, CEREC creates smooth, tooth-colored restorations that blend seamlessly with your smile—often completed in just one visit.

CEREC Onlay Restorations

CEREC onlays are used to restore larger areas of damage while preserving more of your natural tooth. They cover the tooth’s surface and provide a strong, natural-looking result that blends seamlessly with your smile.

CEREC Crowns

CEREC crowns restore damaged or weakened teeth in just one visit. These custom, tooth-shaped caps improve strength, shape, and appearance while maintaining a natural look and feel.

Multiple Restorations

CEREC technology allows multiple restorations—like inlays, onlays, or crowns—to be completed in a single appointment, saving time while delivering precise, high-quality results.
